How to Own the Room podcast is back! Our latest series will feature masterclasses on key topics like confidence, imposter syndrome and nerves as explored through our archive of over 150 guests. I know sometimes the advice in the podcast can feel A LOT. So I wanted to create some “story so far” episodes that allow you to catch your breath, remember the easy stuff and get an overview of all the great tips and tricks. This week: What Makes a Great Speech — How Do You Know What To Say? All my own thoughts on this (which are very fresh as I’m just creating new comedy material now) plus wisdom from Hillary Clinton, Sarah Hurwitz (Michelle Obama’s speechwriter), Countdown’s Anne-Marie Imafidon and actress Meera Syal. Enjoy! Next week: all the best confidence tips from the past eighteen series in one episode.
This episode also features a mention of my new book Happy High Status: How To Be Effortlessly Confident (out June). More on that and how to pre-order very soon. I’m just proofing the manuscript pages. (Which I got Margaret Atwood to bless this week as I was hosting a sold-out event with her in Bath for 1,000 people. Praise be.)
